Sierra Stoltz, goalie for the 2016-2017 Midget AA North Halton Twisters, will be attending King's College in Wilke's - Barre PA this fall as part of the first ever women's hockey team for that school.

Here's a little info on the school, it's coach and the hockey program:

WILKES-BARRE — King's College Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Cheryl Ish has announced Jennifer Kindret has been named the head coach of the college's new NCAA Division III women's ice hockey program.  Kindret, who is a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada, will begin her duties on August 15.

On February 25, King's announced the addition of both men's and women's ice hockey programs with each sport to open competition in 2017-18. The hiring of Kindret will allow her a full year of recruiting in order for King's to prepare for its first season of play.

The 27-year old Kindret comes to King's after spending the last two years as a graduate assistant coach at NCAA Division I Lindenwood University, St. Charles, Mo.  Lindenwood is a member of the College Hockey America (CHA) conference where it competes against the likes of Penn State, Syracuse, and national power Mercyhurst while facing stiff non-conference opposition from Wisconsin, Ohio State, Minnesota-Mankato, Minnesota-Duluth, Bemidji State, and St. Cloud State.

"My top priorities in building the King's ice hockey program from the ground up will be to recruit the right student athletes and have representation on campus and throughout Wilkes Barre," she concluded. "I will look to build the culture of the program and have the team represented well at King's and within the community. We will build King's as a staple of a program to play at in Div. III and by sticking to the process and developing these student athletes we will find success in no time. I am looking to recruit student athletes that fit into the King's culture. I want to bring in student athletes that represent King's College and the Women's hockey program in the highest form. I want them to be excited to be a part of history. They need to resonate with our team's core values, have pride in being a Monarch, and want to get as much as they can out of their time at King's."

According to the NCAA, during the 2015-16 season a total of 76 men's varsity programs competed in Division III while 58 women's varsity programs also took to the ice.
When ice hockey officially begins play, King's will field one of only four NCAA Division III men's and women's programs in the entire state of Pennsylvania.  King's will join Neumann University, located in Aston in the Philadelphia area, Lebanon Valley College in Annville, and Chatham University in Pittsburgh as NCAA Division III varsity ice hockey members.  Chatham has had a women's program since 1996 but will be adding men's ice hockey in 2017-18.
