Hockey has been at the center of Taryn’s life for a very long time. Her passion for the game took her to the highest levels of women’s hockey, competing in the PWHL (now U22) before playing U Sports for both the Western Mustangs and the Ottawa Gee-Gees. As a two-time national finalist and Academic All-Canadian, Taryn learned the value of hard work, resilience, and the importance of balancing competition with a love for the game.
Now, as a coach, she is committed to passing those lessons on to the next generation. With over 10 years of experience behind the bench, Taryn has worked with players at all levels, from grassroots to high-performance hockey. She was part of the coaching staff at the Ontario Summer Games this past August, earning a bronze medal, and has helped lead multiple teams within the North Halton Twisters and Halton Hills Thunder organizations.
Taryn’s coaching philosophy is built around player happiness, confidence, and development. She believes every athlete learns differently and strives to create an environment where players feel supported and motivated to reach their full potential. Beyond skill development, Taryn is passionate about creating meaningful experiences for her players-the kind that inspire them to see a future for themselves in the sport. More than anything, she wants players to leave the rink with a smile, knowing they are improving, growing, and having fun along the way.
