HOUSE LEAGUE

How a player gets that first taste of hockey is crucial. If the beginner has fun, developing some basic skills and building confidence, there is a good chance that player will go on to enjoy hockey for many years. But if a beginner has an unhappy, unrewarding experience, the chances are that he, or she, will quit at an early age and never discover the real joy of Canada's great game. To ensure that the beginner's experience is positive and rewarding we offer our Under 9 (Novice) Program.

Under 9 (Novice) Program (birth years 2012 to 2013)

  • a comprehensive program designed to give the young participant the best possible start to an enjoyable playing experience.
  • the emphasis is on skill development and fun in a safe environment.
  • aims to create participants and instructors who will continue in the game.
  • program includes practice per week (when possible) and one game per week.
  • skills development sessions introduce the skills of skating, passing, puck control and shooting in a progressive manner.
  • games allow for the application of skills and for rules of the game to be learned (i.e. offside, icing).  Enables participants to become contributing members of a team effort, develop self-confidence, and experience a sense of achievement.

Under 11(Atom) to Senior Women's

The emphasis on skill development and fun in a safe environment continues at all age groups.  Our house league program provides recreational hockey to players of all ages and all skill levels.  Come join one of our teams.

House League Goalies

Tyke and Under 9 (Novice) will not have dedicated goalies. All players will rotate playing as a goalie.

Under 11 (Atom) will aim to have 2 goalies per team. Any child who wants to try playing as a goalie will have a chance in net. Under 11 will participate as a player when it is not their turn as a goalie.
Under 13 (Peewee) and older aim to have one dedicated goalie per team. If additional goalies register, some goalies may have to share the position.

Day of Champs
