HISTORY

It all started on the sidelines of a summer soccer match:  grumblings about too many girls driving out of town to play, too many girls quitting because they had to play with the boys and too little ice time in town.  Someone had to take action and those soccer parents did.  The Twisters hit the ice in the fall of 1997 and have never looked back.

From just under 100 members to over 600 in 17 short years, the North Halton Girls Hockey Association is a shining example of one of the fastest growing sports in the country – women's hockey.  Our mission is simple: to offer girls and women in Halton Hills, Milton and the surrounding communities an opportunity to play hockey. All of our players are registered members of the Ontario Women's Hockey Association, which is a member partner of the Ontario Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada.

Our youth House League comprises over 28 teams in 7 divisions, from Tyke through Midget to adult women.

On the competitive side, the North Halton Twisters ice 12 teams, from Novice to Midget AA, competing with great success in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League & at the Ontario Provincial Championships.
