Atom B Twisters Strike Gold for 4th Time this Season

Atom_B_Peterborough.jpgThe Atom B Twisters have been on a roll since they first hit the ice in September! The team has picked up four straight tournament Championship titles with their most recent victory coming this past weekend in Peterborough. The Atom B team went 6-0-0 throughout the tournament defeating six different team to bring home the gold medal! The Twisters did not have an easy route to the finals despite some lopsided scores, in the semi final match vs Gloucester the game was tied 0-0 at the end of the third period. Overtime seemed to solve nothing so the Twisters were off to a shoot out. The shootout ended only after 10 players had the chance to shoot. As the Twisters entered the championship game they knew they had to fight hard in order to come out on top. In the championship game Boycott played hard allowing just one goal and Edwards scored the only goal for the Twisters through regulation time. Overtime again did not solve anything and another shootout was needed to determine the outcome of the game, Edwards netted the game winning shootout goal to help claim gold! Taya Brandt, Claire ONeill, Alyssa Edwards, Nicole Spencer, Eden Boycott and Alyssa Pereira all picked up game MVP awards throughout tournament play. Boycott also picked up 4 shutouts and only allowed 2 goals against.
