Player Development Objectives for the North Halton Twisters.

The objectives for the North Halton Girls Hockey Association will be:

  • to create a Safe and Positive Playing Environment for our athletes
  • to put our athletes first - winning second
  • to have our players demonstrate personal growth and personal ownership for fun, fitness & skill development
  • to have our athletes acquire knowledge and acceptance of game and team rules
  • to improve our athletes’ individual & team skills 
  • to help our athletes develop social skills and leadership qualities that will extend to other areas of their lives

House League Objectives

Additional objectives of the House League will be:

  • to provide a venue for our athletes to enjoy and learn the game of hockey no matter their age, experience or skill level
  • to emphasize fun & fairness

Development Stream Objectives

Additional objectives of the Development Stream will be:

  • to ice a DS team at each age group (U11-U18) in accordance with the OWHA guidelines
  • to provide a venue for those athletes who wish to try out for a more competitive level of hockey than house league can provide
  • to continually enhance the visibility and reputation of the Twisters organization by demonstrating fair and competitive play
  • to continue to build the skill level of those athletes who wish to continue to play DS, or make the transition to playing rep hockey

Rep Program Objectives

The additional objectives of the Rep Program will be:

  • to provide an opportunity for those athletes who wish to play at a high level of girls hockey
  • to consistently ice competitive teams at the following age groups and levels:
    Under 9 A/B
    Under 11 AA/A & BB/B
    Under 13 AA/A & BB/B
    Under 15 AA, A, BB/B
    Under 18 AA, A & BB/ B
  • to attract athletes to come and play for the Twisters organization
  • to continually enhance the visibility and reputation of the Twisters  organization by demonstrating fair and competitive play
