Midget AA wins 2-1 over Team China
Third-period markers by Megan Brinco and Kennedy Rawding lifted the North Halton midget AA Twisters to a 2-1 victory Friday night against a touring club team from China in an international exhibition matchup.

The visiting Qiqihar Randy team had taken the lead on a goal midway through the second period at the Mold-Masters SportsPlex in Georgetown.

Twister goaltenders Kassi Hogan and Danielle Paul shared the duties and both made several excellent saves.

The Twisters’ overall record against their Chinese counterparts over the past four years is 2-2.

Qiqihar Randy is largely a under-19 team – although there was a 35-year-old in the lineup Friday – and is in the midst of a 17-game exhibition schedule against midget AA teams around southern Ontario.

Halton Hills residents will get an opportunity to see more international hockey on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Mold-Masters SportsPlex during a full slate of games as part of the Wenjiang Festival’s week-long series of events, with dozens of visitors from the town's Chinese sister city.
