HHRA is looking for Officials for the 2022/2023 Season! 

Are you interested in becoming a referee? There is no better time to sign up then this upcoming season! In little over a day of training, you can be on the ice officiating the game you love!    

To express your interest, please email our directors of development Vic Phyllis ([email protected]) and Ethan Anderson ([email protected]) with your Information/resume so they can keep you updated on the process and when clinics come online (OMHA Referee Schools are open now)

Below are the minimum requirements to become an Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) referee: 

- Must be 14 years of age or older as of December 31, 2022.
- Those 18 years of age and older must submit an acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Completion of the online Hockey University 1/2 course.
- Completion of the online Respect in Sports – Officials Course.
- Completion of an in-person OMHA entry level clinic including Hockey Canada exam.


It is expected that all level 1 and 2 Officials for HHRA will also be available to be a timekeeper and attend online for electronic game sheets provided by HHRA.  For anyone wishing to just time keep please contact Vic and Ethan to see if there is opportunity (Preference will be given to new officials who want to do both)

OMHA Entry Level Referee Clinics will be posted via the below link. Search Ontario Hockey Federation and Ontario Minor Hockey Association for the appropriate OMHA clinic near you!
